First and foremost, make sure that the area you’re applying your sticker to is flat, but more importantly; clean. Beryl’s a dirty girl, but the place you stick your stickers shouldn’t be. Wash the surface with soap and water ( not any other sort of cleaning products as it may leave a residue, ) and ensure that the surface is perfectly dry before starting. Apply indoors if possible to avoid dust and residue getting involved and ruining your day.
Vinyl reacts to temperature, so we’d recommend not mucking on with stickers if it’s really hot, or really cold. Applying your vinyl in the wrong conditions can impact the longevity of your stickers.
- Once clean, ‘mock up’ where you’d like your sticker to go by placing it against the surface.
- Once you’re happy with the placement, firmly rub all over the transfer tape and sticker. This ensures that the sticker will stick to the transfer tape and not the backing paper.
- Peel off the transparent transfer tape, making sure that the sticker stays on it. Take it slow and if any parts of the sticker don’t come off with the transfer tape slowly go back and re-peel. Peeling at an angle works best, but hey, you do you! This now exposes the bottom side of the sticker.
- Place the sticker and transfer tape onto the surface and firmly rub to get rid of any unwanted air bubbles.
- Peel off the transfer tape slowly, preferably at a 180 degree angle, leaving the freshly applied sticker!
- Step back and admire your fine, fine work.
